Modular
Apartments
Wuppertal,
Germany
2025
Situated on a steep slope just minutes from Wuppertal’s city centre, this residential complex embraces expansive southern views over the urban landscape. Two parallel volumes frame a landscaped communal garden, fostering a sense of community while maintaining privacy for residents. The diverse apartment mix, from micro units and studios to maisonettes and family homes, responds to the varied needs of urban living, including medical staff from the nearby hospital. A kindergarten and shared amenities occupy the lower level, reinforcing the project’s role as both a home and a social hub. It integrates landscape and architecture to create a continuous living environment that encourages interaction, movement and visual connection across all levels while preserving quiet zones for retreat and reflection, enhancing both social engagement and individual comfort throughout the day and across seasons in a sustainable urban setting for the long term.
